IE11 will not search from Address Bar

q: Every time the customer types anything in the address bar inside Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 7 it simply puts http:// in front of it and reports the page is not found.  What ever happened to searching from the address bar, like in Chrome?

a: It is easily enabled in the Search Provider screen under "Manage Add-ons"

1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Click "Tools" (Alt-T if that toolbar is hidden)
3. Click "Manage add-ons"
4. Click "Search Providers" 
5. Make sure Google is the default search engine (feel free to delete the others).
6. At the very bottom look for two checkboxes, check them both & try again.
